AML Policy
Last updated: January 2025. Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Policy.
1. Introduction
SwapAnon is committed to operating in compliance with applicable anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations. While our service is designed for privacy, we firmly oppose the use of our platform for illegal financial activities.
This AML Policy outlines our approach to preventing the use of our Service for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or other financial crimes.
2. Prohibited Activities
Users are strictly prohibited from using SwapAnon for:
- Laundering proceeds of crime or converting illegally obtained assets
- Financing terrorist organizations or activities
- Circumventing economic sanctions imposed by international bodies
- Fraud, theft, or handling stolen cryptocurrency
- Tax evasion or deliberate circumvention of tax reporting obligations
- Darknet market proceeds or ransomware payments
- Human trafficking or other serious criminal enterprise
3. Transaction Limits
We impose transaction limits as part of our risk management approach:
- Minimum transaction: Equivalent to $100 USD
- Maximum transaction: Equivalent to $282,100 USD
These limits help reduce the risk of our Service being used for high-volume financial crimes while still serving legitimate users.
4. Our Risk-Based Approach
While we do not collect user identity data, we take a risk-based approach to AML compliance through the following measures:
- Transaction monitoring: Automated monitoring of transaction patterns for suspicious activity.
- Rate limits: Technical controls that limit transaction velocity.
- Blockchain analytics: We reserve the right to use blockchain analytics tools to screen for known high-risk addresses associated with criminal activity.
- Service refusal: We reserve the right to refuse service to any user or transaction at our sole discretion.
5. User Representations
By using SwapAnon, you represent and warrant that:
- The funds you are exchanging are legally obtained and are not proceeds of any crime.
- You are not subject to any sanctions by the United Nations, European Union, or other applicable authorities.
- Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable AML or CTF laws in your jurisdiction.
- You will not use the Service to assist any third party in violating AML or CTF regulations.
6. Cooperation with Authorities
SwapAnon will cooperate with legitimate law enforcement requests where we are legally required to do so. To the extent we retain any relevant information about a transaction, we will provide it to appropriate authorities upon receipt of a valid legal order.
We encourage users who suspect money laundering or other financial crimes to report them to their local financial intelligence unit (FIU) or law enforcement agency.
7. No Safe Harbor
Using SwapAnon's no-KYC service does not provide any protection from criminal liability. Users who use our platform for illegal purposes remain fully liable under the laws of their jurisdiction.
8. Policy Updates
This AML Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in regulations or our operating environment. Changes will be posted on this page.
